Northrop P-61 ‘Black Widow’ 1942-1954

Perhaps the coolest plane ever. Conceived as weapon for nighttime interception of attacking enemy aircraft, it was the the first aircraft designed to use radar. 

It saw action in the European theater as well as the Pacific, Mediterranean, and China-Burma theaters as well as remaining in service until 1954
